The president and members of Mayem Block BJP committee have hit out against Mayem local, Subhash Kinalkar, for making baseless allegations against Deputy Speaker, Anant Shet, during a hunger strike meeting held at Chorao Madel recently.
Addressing a press conference at Mayem, ZP member, Shankar Chodankar, said termed Kinalkar's statements against the Shet as "indecent" and cautioned him and others.
The committee members threatened to intensify their protest if the allegations persisted.
BJP senior leader Premanand Mhabrey informed that Shet has put in a lot of effort to push for the construction of the bridge. However, this process was delayed as there was a technical problem in the new Land Acquisition Act.
Ankita Navelkar, Chorao Sarpanch Aarti Bandokar, Mayem sarpanch Neha Thanekar, BJP mandal president Dayanand Karbotkar, mandal member Shivaji Jalmi, Vishwas Gaonkar and Gurudas Kerikar were also present at the press briefing.
