PANAJI
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has expressed a need for following Covid restrictions during monsoon, adding that he will appeal to the Chief Minister to implement strict SOPs of preventive measures.
The Tourism Minister's statement comes at a time when the Covid cases in the State have shot up once again over the last couple of days. Around 50 infections of the virus were recorded on Friday.
"It is a pandemic, it is something which I have always said, we also need to be responsible, and we also need to act responsibly, and the government also has to (put protocols) in place. Monsoon is already here," said Khaunte while speaking to media persons at the Taleigao community hall.
"We will speak to the CM and take preventive measures so that there is no problem if any pandemic strikes," he added.
The Minister said that we need to wear masks to ensure safety.
"Since there was no Covid, people were not wearing masks. We need to wear masks, irrespective, to ensure we are safe and keep our family safe," said Khaunte adding that health authorities are the best people to put protocols in place.
