BELAGAVI

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai on Sunday formally inaugurated the  biggest textile mall in three states of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant who was among the guests of honour expressed his inability to attend the function that was attended by cabinet ministers, MLAs and dignitaries from across the region. KLE Society chairperson Dr Prabhakar Kore was among the guests of honour.

“I am privileged to inaugurate this biggest showroom in the region which will now cater to the people of three states. People of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka will now get an opportunity to purchase the fabrics of their choice and range at one B S Chanabasappa Textile Mall. Since 1938, the BSC group has grown to size and fame due to their quality garments, most competitive prices, widest range and courteous customer service,” CM Bommai said lauding the directors of the showroom.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Prabhakar Kore said that the group was looking forward to start the mall somewhere else in the region, however, when I cited the need of the customers from Belagavi and Goa region, they took the decision to set up the mall here. “I am confident that BSC Mall will get more customers than their Davangere showrooms as people from Goa who are visiting Belagavi every weekend would now flock to the showroom in large numbers,” Dr Kore ascertained.

In his introductory remarks, director B C Chandrashekhar said that brand BSC has grown up a long way. The first generation of the group was selling garments from village to village and later started a small shop at Davangere. “ From a small retail shop to largest mall today, the group has come a long way,” Chandrashekhar said.

Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai also went around the five storied mall which is spread across one lakh square feet showroom. Apart from local customers, a large number of Goans too flocked the showroom on the inaugural day.
