The Crime Branch has arrested a third accused in an alleged overseas job fraud racket that cheated job seekers from several States by promising jobs in Hong Kong and other countries.

Harpreet Singh (39), from Kurukshetra, Haryana, was arrested at Delhi International Airport after Goa Police issued a Look Out Circular against him.

Investigators said Singh and his associates allegedly collected money from victims by falsely promising overseas jobs. They operated as recruitment agents without mandatory registration under the Emigration Act and allegedly sent victims to East Asian countries on tourist visas instead of providing employment, exposing them to possible exploitation. Two Goa residents, Ambar Sawant and Pankaj Naik, were arrested earlier. Singh is the third accused held in the case.

The Crime Branch has urged the public to verify recruitment agencies and use only those registered under the Emigration Act before seeking jobs abroad.
