State celebrates International Day of Yoga

Raj Bhavan, Goa celebrated International Day of Yoga at its new Durbar Hall on Wednesday. Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai participated in the yoga session.
International Delegates attending Fourth Tourism Working Group and Ministerial meeting headed by Union Minister for Tourism, Culture and DONER, G Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for Defence & Tourism, Ajay Bhatt along with other G20 delegates also participated in the Yoga Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan.
Citing the quote from Bhagavad Geeta, Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self to the self, the Governor said. "Today, we hear people talk about the various benefits of yoga everywhere. Yoga provides many health benefits due to which most people have started practising yoga regularly," he added.

HC MARKS YOGA DAY
The International Day of Yoga was observed with much enthusiasm at the High Court of Bombay in Goa at Porvorim. To mark the observance Yoga exercise activities were conducted wherein the stakeholders of High Court participated in common yoga protocol.
President, District Consumer Redressal Commission Bela Naik; Judge, High Court of Bombay at Goa, Justice, M S Karnik; Judge, HC of Bombay at Goa, Justice Bharat K Deshpande; District Judge Vijayalaxmi Shivolkar; Registrar Admn High Court Dinesh Shetye; Registrar Judicial Ram Prabhu Desai and others were present at the function.

YOGA DAY AT CHICALIM P'YAT
Yoga Day was celebrated at Chicalim Panchayat on Wednesday morning, with Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho participating in the function along with Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav, panch members, students, BJP Karyakartas and many students.
Speaking to reporters later, Godinho said yoga is a practice that originated in India but has now gone world over, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi participating in the International Yoga Day at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, America.

BITS OBSERVES YOGA DAY
BITS Pilani Goa observed the 9th International Yoga Day at its student activity centre. Sharad Chopdekar, an enthusiastic Yoga instructor conducted the yoga session which was held in the presence of the dean of Administration, Prof Meenal Kowshik, associate dean (students welfare division), Prof Angshuman Sarkar, Prof D M Kulkarni and Ajay Kewat.
