This is about a road in Dona Paula at NIO circle passing from a narrow slope coming from Bambolim. A number of accidents have already taken place. Just at this area Tourism department has proposed a bus stand which is not adequate. Residents of Dona Paula feels that this stand will further agravate the situation and more accidents will take place. The speed of vehicles coming from Bambolim is above the safe limits and no proper boards nor circles at prominent places were installed. Corporator of Dona Paula Nelson Cabral resides just opposite to this slope and he too tried his level best to impress the CCP authorities that the widening is most important to avoid accidents. It so happen that there are two houses which are on line of widening of this slope. These both buildings must be checked by CCP or NGDPA as they falls on line of widening the road. Today I saw one broken pole just above the slope near NIO colony/ Sagar Society broken into two parts probably due to accident at night time when the lights were playing hide and seek. Similarly there is another broken pole near Kamat Super market at Caranzalem which is not attended quite long time. Earlier the installation of these poles were objected by me of being substandard having its base weak with 4 screws fitted superficially. This was reported by The Goan during initial stage of installation of those poles. We could see such poles at number of places found damaged.
