Water Resources Department Minister Subhash Shirodkar on Friday said that heavy rains witnessed in the last few days will leave sufficient water in the dams across the State.
He, however, stressed on the need for water harvesting as part of water conservation to cater to the growing water requirements.
“Rains in the last few days will ensure that there will be sufficient water in the dams across the State to cater to the growing requirements,” he said.
The Minister said the 500 bhandaras spread across the State will help in the water harvesting and water conservation to meet the water requirements.
Meanwhile, Shirodkar has said he would certainly contest the 2027 Assembly election from Shiroda constituency if the party nominates him with a ticket. “I will contest if the BJP gives me the ticket. My work is there for everyone to see,” he said.
When asked about claims made on Shiroda by the BJP alliance partner, Shirodkar shot back, “I have been in politics since the last 40 years. These alliance partners come and go.”
