CRC Chinchinim secured a 4-2 win over Betalbatim Sporting Club in an exciting match at the 1st VJT Cup 2023 at Church Ground, Chinchinim on Tuesday. Chinchinim took control of the game from the start and opened the scoring in the 5th minute through Savio Gomes, who finished a well-worked move. Betalbatim tried to respond but failed to break through the solid defence of Chinchinim. Savio Gomes then scored two more goals in quick succession in the 25th and 26th minutes, completing his hat-trick and giving Chinchinim a comfortable 3-0 lead at half-time. Betalbatim came back stronger in the second half and reduced the deficit in the 37th minute when Jesus Ferrao scored a superb goal from inside the box. Klusner Pereira added another goal for Betalbatim in the 45th minute, making it 3-2 and setting up a tense finale. However, Chinchinim sealed their victory in the 47th minute when Chadel Fernandes scored a fourth goal for his team.
