AJ Cumborda made short work of Jolina Carmel 4-2 in the Goodspherd Cup football tournament at Church grounds Curtorim Cumborda on Thursday.
Avilson scored the first goal in the 7th minute but their joy was short-lived as Backdon equalised five minutes later. Jolina Carmel took the lead through Mascarenhas in the 19th minute.
AJ Cumborda came back stronger in the second half and equalised through Valzino. Myron registered his name on the scoring sheet, scoring from a rebound off the rival keeper Caitano. Aliston hammered the final nail into Jolina Carmel's coffin to make it 4-2. AJ Cumborda will next meet Black Arrow, Agxem in the second semifinals on August 27.
Nehru Cup jr hockey: Fr Agnel HSS win
Fr Agnel HSS, Pilar beat Govt. School Morlem 3-0 in the Junior Nehru Cup inter school hockey tournament at Peddem Artificial turf ground, Mapusa on Thursday.
Wayne Anisto and Havesh were the goal getters. In the second match, Damodar HSS, Gudi beat Damodar English HS, Gudi 8-1. Shahjaffer and Krish scored three goals each while Bharat and Sahil scored a goal each. Ashish scored the lone goal for Damodar HS, Gudi.
In the U-15 boys section, Damodar English HS, Gudi beat Our Lady of Lourdes HS, Utorda 2-0. Santosh and Tushar scored a goal each for the Gudi side.
