MARGAO
Yogiraj Digamber Kamat was unanimously elected President of the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), Margao Unit, during the Annual General Body Meeting-cum-Triennial Elections held at Margao Residency.
Filomeno Costa was elected Chairman of the unit, while Santosh Mapsekar and Ashwat Majalikar were chosen as Vice-Presidents. Jyoti Mageshker was elected Treasurer.
Laxmidas Mangeshker and Jaysree Sasikumar were appointed General Secretary and Organising Secretary, respectively.
Earlier, Chairman Filomeno Costa welcomed the members and guests. Laxmidas Mangeshker presented the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting and submitted the report on the unit's activities during 2025-26. The statement of accounts for the financial year 2025-26 was also placed before the house.
The unit announced plans to organise a series of activities throughout the year, culminating in a Youth Festival scheduled for February 2027.
Mayuresh Khavnte was appointed State Election Observer by the Goa State Branch of YHAI for the election proceedings.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks.
