Pernem Police have arrested one Russian national, Reberiev Aleksei, 45, presently residing at Madhlawada, Morjim, for having illegal possession of narcotics drugs such as hashish oil weighing 465 gms worth Rs 4,65,000 and cannabis seeds weighing 240 grams worth Rs 24,000.
PI Pernem Jivba Dalvi received specific information from his sources that one Russian national had concealed narcotic drugs in his rented room at Madhlawada, Morjim, and he would deliver the same to his prospective customers.
Acting on the information, PI Dalvi formed a team consisting of PSI Sanjit Kandolkar, PSI Vivek Halarnkar, PSI Harish Vaingankar, HC Pravin Mahale, PC Swapnil Shirodkar, PC Vishnu Gad and Sandesh Varak and conducted a raid and caught the Russian red-handed with the drugs.
He was booked under the relevant sections of NDPS Act 1985. Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Pernem Salim Shaikh and SP North Shobit Saxena.
